Cereal Aguardente

Our cereal aguardente is a close relative of our whisky; made from the same Portuguese cereals and with the same techniques and care.

At its simplest, you could think of it as “whisky that hasn’t been aged for three years.” (a legal requirement in EU whisky definition).

For us, it’s an important stage on our journey to releasing distinctive Portuguese whiskys. These earlier releases, as aguardente, allow us to learn, share our progress, evaluate, and get feedback on what’s going well (or not!) along the journey.

Stepping outside of the strict requirements surrounding whisky allows us to experiment with a little bit less pressure, and hopefully shake up how people see aguardente in the process!
